Philly Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown had a career day against the on Sunday Pittsburgh Steelers. The next morning, the NFL asked him to take a drug test, which is said to be randomly assigned.

Brown didn’t seem too sure about the randomness of the test, mentioning NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a tweet about the situation.

“I would do a drug test this morning huh lol Rogerrrrr that’s no coincidence @NFL,” he wrote Monday.

Brown registered six receptions, 156 yards and three touchdowns to help his team win 35-13 and continue an unbeaten season with a 7-0 record. His yards and touchdowns were career-best for the 25-year-old star, and those numbers weren’t just impressive for his own stats. Brown was the first Eagles player with three touchdowns from 25+ yards in a game since Ben Hawkins in 1969 and the first player in the entire league since Breshad Perriman in 2019.

That The official NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances — agreed upon by the NFL Players Association and NFL Management Council — states that 10 players from each club will be randomly selected by a computer program every week during the preseason and regular season. In this case, Brown had to be one of the randomly selected players.

However, Brown isn’t the first player to raise a brown eye given the randomness of the selection.

last season, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett joked about how he was tested twice for drugs after going sleeveless and said he might need to change his appearance. Shortly thereafter, he was picked again, which was the third time in his team’s first seven games. Garrett then joked that the The NFL probably tried to “clone” him.
