Sen. Ted Cruz Calls Biden DOJ Leak of Hunter Biden Indictment ‘Troubling’

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, joined “Sunday morning futures“to discuss the Department of Justice’s escape from an indictment of Hunter Biden, who faces charges for drug and tax crimes, but avoids corruption crimes.

NO. TED CRUZ: Well, the evidence of the corruption has become today. And we’ve seen in the last month that Biden’s Justice Department has been actively leaking that he intends to instill Hunter Biden. And I have to say, these leaks are troubling on three different bases.

First, the Department of Justice should not disclose anything that is against the law to the extent that they reveal the secrets of the grand jury. This is, in fact, a criminal offence. And they play politics. They are not engaged in law enforcement.

Number two, the substance of what they leaked is that they are looking for Hunter Biden for drug offenses and tax offenses. Now, listen, by any measure, Hunter Biden is a deeply troubled soul, a soul who has struggled with addiction his entire life. What worries him about his focus on drug and tax issues is that he is very careful about the wall because this is a matter of public concern. If Hunter Biden was just a regular guy who struggled with addiction, it wouldn’t be a matter of public interest.
