Surveillance video shows the moment the fire broke out during the funeral

Channel 11 gets our first look at the chaos that unfolded outside Destiny of Faith Church last Friday afternoon when six people were injured in a shooting.

We’ve obtained exclusive surveillance video that shows the speed of the shooting, and the terror the mourners must have felt as they walked into the church.

At first, you can see people on the screen realizing that someone is shooting a gun, and they make a run for it.

Then, the horse-drawn carriage carrying the casket speeded up Brighton Road after one of the horses was hit by bullet fragments.

That’s when a man appears, dressed in black, while wearing a ski mask, and fires a gun in every direction.

After the shooter escapes, a woman limps toward the church, and after she ends up inside, the church doors are locked and secured.

The terrifying scene unfolded outside John Hornezes’ funeral at the Destiny of Faith Church.

The man you see shooting the gun is either Shawn Davis or Hezekiah Nixon.

They are the two responsible for the shooting. According to the investigators, they used surveillance video to help identify them, and caught up with them that evening on the McKees Rocks Bridge.

On Friday, we showed you what family and friends of Hornezes went through in the church in a livestream video recording the service.

You could hear gunshots and see people running and scrambling for cover.

People inside told Channel 11 they heard nearly 60 gunshots as they were there to mourn Hornezes after he was shot and killed in a triple homicide on the Northside two weeks ago.

At this point, police have not released any information about what motivated Davis and Nixon to fire dozens of shots outside his funeral.
